Open access and licensing

Since volume 94 (2022), Preslia has published articles with immediate, free open access, without registration or embargo. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) licence; the current licence is CC BY 4.0, which permits reuse, including commercial use, with attribution.

Articles published before 2022 are freely available in the journal archive. Their reuse is governed by the licence or copyright terms stated in each article; where no open licence is specified, standard copyright restrictions apply.

Copyright and self-archiving

Before publication, the corresponding author signs the Copyright Transfer Form on behalf of all authors, transferring copyright to the Czech Botanical Society. The Society publishes the articles under CC BY. Authors may share and archive the final published PDF without embargo, subject to the licence terms.

Peer review

Manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening and single-anonymous peer review by at least two independent experts. The editors make the final decision on acceptance. The same peer-review standards apply to invited papers and special issues.

Publication fees

The publication fee is CZK 25,000 (EUR 1,000) per accepted article, reduced to CZK 15,000 (EUR 600) for members of the Czech Botanical Society. There are no submission, review or other author charges.
