Abstract

Standing crop of Reynoutria japonica (Japanese knotweed) was measured from randomly located plots of 2 sites in the United Kingdom in the autumn of 1991. One site was in southern Wales and the other site was in central England. Aerial biomass averaged 9365 kg/ha and root+ rhizome biomass, to a depth of 25 cm, averaged 14677 kg/ha.
