Abstract

Reasons are given for division of the family Sarraceniaceae into the families Heliamphoracaae with the genus Heliamphora and Sarraceniaceae s. str., with the genera Darlingtonia and Sarracenia, which are considered as representatives of two separate subfamilies (Sarracenioideae and Darlingtonioideae). Division of the genus richest in species, Sarracenia, into subgen. Sarracenia and subgen. Sarraceniella is suggested, based above all on the morphological and anatomical structure of their pitchers.
