Zur Taxonomie und Chorologie von Minuartia orthophylla (Caryophyllaceae)

Minuartia orthophylla (BECK) DVOŘÁKOVÁ, a species of the section Polymechana MATTF., is defined in terms of taxonomy and chorology. The species proved to be a diploid with 2n = 24; its close relation to the tetraploid Minuartia glaucina DVOŘÁKOVÁ is discussed. Attention is drawn to an erroneous interpretation of the species Minuartia verna (L.) HIERN. The distribution of M. orthophylla is characterized (the species is an endemic plant of the Dinaric mountain system in Yugoslavia). The seed-coat of M. orthophylla is described in detail and documented by SEM photographs.
