Abstract
Being an indigenous component of natural tall-herb communities of Adenostyletalia, Cicerbita alpina (L.) WALLR. grows along mountain streams in the Orlické hory Mts. As an apophyte, the species spreads into road margins and man-made ditches. Regarding various intensity of human influence, it has been found to occur in the following syntaxonomical series: Adenostyli-Athyrietum alpestris petasitetosum albi -> derivate community Petasites albus - [Adenostyletalia] -> derivate community Petasites albus - [Galio-Urticetea].
