Abstract

The Úštěcká pahorkatina (Úštěcká hill country) is an agricultural landscape section located among the towns of Litoměřice, Liběchov and Úštěk in northern Bohemia. The geographical bedrock is formed by cretaccous group - marc- and sandstone. Together with relatively warm climate, there are conditions favourable for remarkable xerotherm grasslands and relic pinewoods. The group of species Coronilla vaginalis, Globularia punctata, Linum tenuifolium, L. flavum, Teucrium chamaedrys and Ophrys insectifera together with special ecological phenomena distinguish a separate phytogeographical district Úštěcko-lomská pahorkatina.
