Sukcese na nesečených loukách v SPR Stužica (Bukovské vrchy)

Mountain meadows within the forest nature reserve Stužica in the East Carpathian Bukovské vrchy Mts. were repeatedly investigated after 17 and/or 20 years. The changes in species composition caused by cessation of mowing varied with respect to the character of initial communities and habitat differences. The changes were slower in the meadows situated at higher altitudes of the mountain range. The most rapid changes were found in small meadow patches enclosed in forest.
