Abstract
The plant communities of the Czech Socialist Republic (except purely cryptogamic communities) known hitherto are classed into 141 alliances grouped into 69 orders; and 42 classes. These syntaxa reflect the entire variability of vegetation of the territory starting from plant communities of rocks and water and ending with plant communities of natural forests on one hand and weed communities on the other hand.
